Key Curriculum Free Webinar: Common Core—Statistics & Probability Standards with TinkerPlots® Video Clips. Duration : 59.98 Mins.We had a good read. For the benefit of yourself. Be sure to read to the end. I want you to get good knowledge from 6Th Grade Math . April 4, 2012 Josephine Noah TinkerPlots activities are all you need to address the 6th-grade CCSS Statistics and Probability standards. In grades 3--5, standards involve plotting measurement data in a line plot. In grades 6--8, the Statistics and Probability strand is introduced, and students begin understanding statistical variability and using statistics to summarize and describe distributions. This webinar will show a variety of activities that cover all the 6th-grade standards, with a particular focus on 6.SP.5, listed below. We'll particularly focus on cross-curricular science and social science connections. This webinar is suitable for first-time users of TinkerPlots. Common Core State Standard 6.SP.5: Summarize numerical data sets in relation to their context, such as by: - Reporting the number of observations. - Describing the nature of the attribute under investigation, including how it was measured and its units of measurement. - Giving quantitative measures of center (median and/or mean) and variability (interquartile range and/or mean absolute deviation), as well as describing any overall pattern and any striking deviations from the overall pattern with reference to the context in which the data were gathered. - Relating the choice of measures of center and variability to the shape of the data distribution and the context in which the data were gathered.
